Project: Maya Character Animation #1
Overview
This video showcases a series of short character animations created over several weeks. Each animation was based on a specific action or word assigned during weekly workshops, with the goal of developing a foundational understanding of character movement and timing.
Process
A simple pre-rigged character was provided for the duration of the project, allowing me to focus on learning animation principles. This was my first experience working with a rig in Autodesk Maya. I used reference videos of myself performing the assigned actions to study realistic motion and translate it into animation. Through experimenting with posing, timing, and body mechanics, I built a solid foundation in character animation that continues to inform my current work.
