Project: Eco Pod Urban Design
OVerview
A project focused on urban design around improving less trafficked areas on the Curtin University campus. Transforming an area into a positive environment for those studying.
EcoPod functions as a small‑scale urban design intervention that improves the quality and usability of campus public space. It enhances the public space of a garden / green area by turning it into a social, and study‑friendly micro‑environments. With wheelchair‑friendly seating and placement along key campus paths, EcoPod supports inclusive public space. Its use of recycled materials and solar energy reflects contemporary urban design values around sustainability and long‑term environmental resilience. Overall, EcoPod contributes to a more vibrant, functional, and socially connected campus landscape.
Process
Process involved spending time around the campus and noticing what others and I felt would improve their studying lives while outside of class. Brainstorming and developing concepts of a physical structure that is both sustainable and manufactured relatively easily. Modelling a high quality 3d model to visualise the project outside of a concept drawing.
Software used
Autodesk Maya
Blender
